Based on and inspired by cases in which successful companies received 90 % of their customers from the Internet
Sometimes, I hear from business owners that a website today is not necessary for small businesses. Usually, they tell me that having a page on FB, Instagram and a simple one-page website is enough to present their company on the internet. This is right in case they don’t have a plan to get new customers from the internet.
Otherwise, they can use modern technology to promote their business.
Today, entrepreneurs have a variety of tools and platforms to help them target prospective customers, on the web. The point is which one will be working for their business. There is a huge amount of information on how to get customers, but for a person who does not understand digital marketing, it is almost impossible to figure out which information is valuable, which is hopelessly outdated, and which is a complete lie for advertising of any services.
Based on my experience and some research, the best ROI (Return on marketing investment) gets better results where a website acts as the main hub for solving all user’s desires. Other tools and platforms such as social networks, PPC and etc. act as direct traffic to that website.
And don’t forget your website is just your website; you are an owner and can do whatever you want, instead of most website builders and all social networks where you just play by their rules and pay them sometimes are the biggest part of your earnings. I mean if they increase prices or stop working, you will lose all the money that you spend on promoting your business.
#1 Representation in the digital world.
Your business needs to be where your consumers are. Overall, 81% of Americans state they go online on a daily basis. And a big part of them is looking for your service.
Your website will be your office, showroom, store on the Internet, and you are to only one to be in control of it. You can design your website to match your business and targets.
#2 Get more potential clients
Today, a business website is the main marketing tool.
An optimized website will help you reach local and remote users searching for the products and services your business offers, as it will have a place in Google Maps, Google Search, and in other hundreds of places, where users are looking for services and products every day.
As a result, you get a much wider audience and can reach more potential clients.
#3 Credibility & Professionalism.
Business website inspires confidence in you and your clients and will show that you are a professional.
Today, consumers expect companies to have an online presence and won’t consider a company that doesn’t have a website professional. It proves you are serious about what you do.
But please keep in mind- there’s nothing less professional than a website that says “I used a free website builder!”.
- Usually, DIY websites cannot be found in Google search, mostly because they have poor SEO and less quality equipment on a server than a professional hosting company has.
- You can’t change hosting. If you decide to make a more complicated website and relocate to professional hosting, you will be forced to create a new website. Which means you do not own the website you’ve built.
- Often, URL (web address) comes with an extension like sitebuilder.com. This doesn’t sound professional.
- Sometimes an advertisement for other businesses will appear on your website, including competitors. Does that create more trust for your business?
- Relying on third-party sites means following their terms of service, whether you like it or not.
#4 Brand Development.
A brand is the personality of your company, that consumers start to know and trust.
Nowadays it is impossible to build a company’s brand without a website.
#5 Unique Selling Point.
Your website is the best place to present your individuality.
Show your potential customers what makes you different from the competitors, talk about your Unique Selling Point.
Customers have a huge selection nowadays, therefore they need to know how are you different.
Is Just Having One Website Enough To Present Business On The Internet?
Indeed, you cannot have a successful online presence with just one online platform in 2021. Doesn’t matter if this is a website, a page on Facebook, Yelp, Instagram, Shopify, Google My Business, etc.
If you only have one, you’re missing out on a huge number of prospective customers and fans. Unfortunately, the days when you could build an audience and acquire free traffic on Facebook or boost your webpages in free TOP of Google SERP are gone.
In most cases, small businesses don’t have a large marketing budget and the owner is forced to choose between a few most beneficial platforms to start.
Which platforms are the most valuable?
- A Website
- YouTube Channel
- Google My Business
- Google ADS
- Landing Pages for PPC advertising
- Social Networks (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Yelp, etc.)
- Ecommerce platforms in case you sell goods (Amazon, eBay, Shopify, etc.)
A website of your business is a marketing powerhouse.
Your website should act as the hub for all of your online marketing efforts. Use social media channels and Google tools to attract customers, but satisfy users’ desires and solve their problems on your website.
Create a tandem of most valuable platforms and get maximum benefits from presenting your business on the Internet.
